M186WR. Smart, N, The World’s Religions, 1989, C.U.P small 4to pbk. 1992, 576pp including index, with maps and photographs in the text, many in colour. A comprehensive survey, covering both ancient and modern traditions. Covers lightly rubbed and soiled in places, spine very slightly faded. A hint of cockling to some margins, but contents clean and tight. Good + £2.50

Snodgrass, A, The Symbolism of the Stupa, 1984, 1st Indian edition, Motilal Banarsidass 1992, large 8vo, black cloth with gilt titles to spine, 10 + 469pp including index, with diagrams and other illustrations in the text;  the whole forming an in depth study of the esoteric meaning and hidden symbolism of the Stupa within Asian religious architecture. A few faint marks to cloth, minor spots to the odd margin; manufacturing fault resulting in lower corner clipped from half title, together with crease marks and incorrect trimming to lower corners of first 50 pages, but otherwise a very good clean tight copy of the uncommon hard cover issue in like (a couple of minor marks, slight creasing to top edge, tiny chip to top of lower spine fold) d/w £35

Stirling, W, The Canon: An Exposition of the Pagan Mystery Perpetuated in the Cabala as the Rule of all the Arts,, 1897, Garnstone Press 1974, 8vo, brown pictorial cloth gilt, 16 + 404pp including index, with illustrations in the text. Silk bookmark present as issued. Preface by R.B Cunningham Graham, new foreword to this facsimile edition by John Michell. An excellent study of the relationship between gematria, cabbalistic thought and scared proportion. A book, that on its original publication was far ahead of its time, and now widely acknowledged as a classic, largely due to this, the first reprint. Edge of text block slightly spotted, ownership inscription to front end paper, contents otherwise clean and tight. A very good copy in near very good (a few minor marks, light wear to top edge in places with small closed tear to top of front fold near spine) d/w £45
