Dee, Dr John, A True and Faithful Relation of What Passed for Many Years Between Dr. John Dee... and Some Spirits: tending (had it succeeded) to a General Alteration of most States and Kingdomes in the World....with a Preface confirming the Reality ( as to the point of Spirits) of this Relation... by Meric Casubon, 1659, Antonine Press 1974, Folio, grey buckram with gilt maroon title labels to spine, number 282 of 1000 cloth bound copies signed by the publishers, title page rubricated, 84 + 448 + 46 + 4pp + a frontispiece, folding plate and two further plates. The first and arguably the most handsome of the facsimile issues of this cornerstone of Enochian magic; printed in specially selected inks on toning paper recalling the original. A very near fine copy of this increasingly uncommon edition in like (spine panel very slightly darkened) d/w, all housed in near very good (gilt on lightly rubbed, some light wear to corners, a few marks to cloth at ends) publishers original green cloth slip case with gilt and black papered sides as issued £250

M46C.  Douglas, Prof. R.K, Confucianism and Taouism, 1879, 5th edition, S.P.C.K 1900, Cr8vo, full tan pictorial cloth gilt, 287pp, with a folding coloured map as frontispiece + advertisements. Corners and spine ends lightly rubbed, upper corners bumped, inner end papers browned, ownership signature to front end paper, text lightly tanned and with underling to a couple of sentences but otherwise clean and tight. Good + £8

Drummond, W, Oedipus Judaicus, 1811, Bracken 8vo pbk. 1996, 72 + 381pp + 16 plates (on ordinary paper).  A series of dissertations on Genesis and the books of Judges and Joshua that attempt to show them as astronomical allegories, together with a preliminary notice on ancient astronomy.  Edges of covers lightly rubbed, crease to lower corner of rear cover, slightly affecting corners of last few leaves, text lightly tanned, otherwise clean and tight. Good + £2.50
