M46C.  Douglas, Prof. R.K, Confucianism and Taouism, 1879, 5th edition, S.P.C.K 1900, Cr8vo, full tan pictorial cloth gilt, 287pp, with a folding coloured map as frontispiece + advertisements. Corners and spine ends lightly rubbed, upper corners bumped, inner end papers browned, ownership signature to front end paper, text lightly tanned and with underling to a couple of sentences but otherwise clean and tight. Good + £8

Drummond, W, Oedipus Judaicus, 1811, Bracken 8vo pbk. 1996, 72 + 381pp + 16 plates (on ordinary paper).  A series of dissertations on Genesis and the books of Judges and Joshua that attempt to show them as astronomical allegories, together with a preliminary notice on ancient astronomy.  Edges of covers lightly rubbed, crease to lower corner of rear cover, slightly affecting corners of last few leaves, text lightly tanned, otherwise clean and tight. Good + £2.50

A concise study of man's encounters with gods and magic, showing common themes in the ancient Greek and Egyptian religions and their relevance to modern magic and the Kabbalah. Fine in like d/w £8
